THE WHITE HOUSE
Washington

June 1, 1914

My dear Mr. Waring

I have your letter of May twenty-sixth,
which I have read very carefully. I am very sorry
indeed that you should feel as you do about the course
of the present administration. It has been doing
everything that was possible in a difficult situation.

I will take the pleasure of sending your
letter to the Attorney General for his consideration.

Sincerely yours,
(Signed) WOODROW WILSON

Mr. Robert Lewis Waring,
12 West 133rd Street,
New York City.
