Hon. J. P. Tumulty:

Letter sent the President to-day was read and signed as I was taking
the train for Montgomery, Ala. I did not notice mistakes until I read my
copy in the train. Before the word FAIL put NOT and make it read WOULD NOT
FAIL TO CONFIRM. Sorry I did not have time to read carefully the letter
before I signed it.
