a faithful account of the murder of T. P. Taul
and the trial of the Murderer)
March 21st 1850. Thomas P. Taul, was a Master
Mason, - I am myself a Mason. & here state
upon my horror as such, that there were several
of the Craft Master Masons, not less
than 3 or 4, who were Citizens of Winchester
and in town on the day he was killed, and
who knew of the danger he was in; that he
was attacked by Anderson on that day, but
entirely neglected to notify him of it. At
least 3, if not 4, had been in Consultation
with it. On the subject, counselling, advising
aiding & abetting him in the Murder -
I have never been in a Masonic Lodge
since - Nor never expect to be again.
