I was confident that once they entered American schools they would quickly make up for lost time. Alfred's lack of a better grounding in English explains his 60% in Arithmetic and 65% in English. He wrote me that he sometimes fail to catch the meaning of single words not to mention his misunderstanding of the lesson as a whole.
