of the address, and the Secretary was instructed

George Weir Secretary.

Queen's College
16th August 1860.
Which day the Senatus met and was duly
constituted by the Chairman Dr. Williamson.
Sederunt Dr. Williamson Chairman
Professors Mowat, Lawson and Weir.
The minutes of former meeting were read
and approved of.

Dr. Williamson stated that he had been
authorized by Messrs Bruce, Drummond
and Davidson, Trustees to say that they
were quite willing to leave all further
arrangements in regard to the address to
the Prince of Wales with the Senatus on
the understanding that the Chairman of the
Trustees, should present said address.
Professor Weir dissented from the matter's
being taken up at all by the Senatus for
the following reason. "Because as the
Address in question is a joint affair between
the Trustees and the Professors the Senatus as
such can have nothing to do with it."

In accordance with this arrangement, it was
agreed that the Address should be presented
by the Chairman of the Trustees and by Dr. Williamson
as Chairman of the Senatus, and that
the Professors and the Trustees follow in
procession, this arrangement having been
proposed by the Trustees, themselves.
