that Mr. James Douglas B.A. of this University
offers a prize of $40 to the student
who shall distinguish himself most for
his Knowledge of English Literature.
The Principal agreed to acknowledge the
gift conveying the Cordial thanks of the
Senatus.

It was resolved that in the meantime this
prize be confined to the third year's Students
in Arts, and that Spalding's History of
English Literature be the text book for
Examination.

Which day the Senatus met and
was duly constituted.
Sederunt The Very Reverend Principal
Leitch, Professors Williamson, George
Mowat, Lawson and Weir.
The minutes of former meeting were
read and approved of.

The Secretary was instructed to get the
Scheme of Examination for degrees printed
and proof copies sent to each Professor.

It was agreed that there should be no
meetings on Saturday Mornings in future
for prayers.
