before the Senate, applying for the degree of
B.A. Certificates and Class-tickets were
likewise submitted by the said James Shier—
to the effect that he had passed through a
regular course in Arts in Marischal College
Aberdeen Scotland.~ The Senate agreed to comply
with his request on Condition of his undergoing
a satisfactory Examination on the following
subjects viz.~ in Classics
Demosthenes 1st three Philippics.
Epistle to the Ephesians in Greek.
Cicero Pro Milone and Epodes of Horace.
in Natural Philosophy on
Phear's Hydrostatics, and Herschell's Astronomy
in Mental Philosophy and Logic on
Whately's Logic and Reid's Intellectual
Powers.~

The Senate agreed to confer the Honorary
Degree of M.A. on Mr. Donald McLennan
Law-Student Toronto, (who had passed
through the regular Curriculum in Arts in
this University), on the understanding that
as soon as he is in circumstances to do so,
he will refund to the College all the fees
remitted and Bursaries granted him during
his Curriculim. ~

The Senate was unanimously of opinion
that a union between the County-Grammar
School, and Queen's College Preparatory School
was very desirable, provided the same could
be effected on satisfactory grounds~
