was read relating to prizes, and a Letter
was read from the Governor General's Secretary
in reply to the Senate's memorial regarding
Dr. Stewart.

It was moved by Professor Murray
and seconded by Professor Mowat that
"The Senatus agree to record their satisfaction
with the Provisions of the College's
Stautes, Rules, and Ordinances recently
framed and enacted by the Board of Trustees
as far as the said Code relates to the Faculties
of Arts and Theology. Though some modifications
will probably be suggested by
experience, they regard the Code as fair as
it affects the said two Faculties as all the
while adapted to the constitution of the University,
and they therefore hope that in
obedience to its requirements, they may be
able more efficiently to perform their
duties as Professors, and to promote the
general welfare of the Institution."

Professors Mowat and Murray voted for
the above motion, Professors Williamson,
Lawson and Weir declined voting. The
Secretary was instructed to transmit an
extract of the minute relating to this matter
to the Trustee-Board.
