Queen's College 2nd November 1863
Which day the Senatus met and was
duly constituted.
Sederunt The Very Reverend Principal
Leitch, Professors Williamson, Mowat,
Murray and Weir.
The minutes of former meeting were read
and approved of.

An extract minute from the proceedings
of the Executive Committee of the Board
of Trustees of Queen's College regarding
the Campbell Scholarship was laid before
the Senatus and the Secretary was instructed
to send a copy of said extract to Mr. Ireland.

It was resolved that the document transmitted
by the Executive Committee anent
statute 38th be received.

In regard to a letter from Professor Lawson
of this date respecting Extract minute
from proceedings of Executive Committee
of Trustees of Queen's College, it was resolved
that he be informed that the minutes
of the Executive Committee to which his
letter refers, has been received by the Senatus.

The Senatus having been informed
that Dr. Lawson has resigned the office
of Chemistry and Natural History in this
University, unanimously resolved to record
their high sense of his uniform business
and courtesy in his intercourse with his
Colleagues, of the zeal and ability with
which he fulfilled the duties of his Professorship,
and otherwise eminent promotion [of]
the welfare of the College, especially by
