April 4th 1864[/margin] Chair, Professors Murray, Bell and Mowat[,]
Mr. Ross, Fellow of the University.
The minutes of the last meeting were
read and approved.

[margin]Bursaries to be
refunded[/margin]The Secretary was instructed to write
to the students who received bursaries on
condition of their entering the ministry but
have turned aside to some other profession
and to request them to refund at their earliest
convenience the monies thus appropriated
to them by the Senatus.

[margin]Letter to Scottish
Univ. Miss. Assoc.[/margin]The Secretary was instructed to write
to the University Missionary Associations of
Glasgow, Aberdeen, and St. Andrews and bring
before them the claims of the Bursary
Fund upon their liberality.

[margin]Candidates for degrees
to give notice[/margin] It was agreed that hereafter candidates for
degrees shall be required to intimate to the Secretary
of Senatus their intention of becoming candidates
at least a fortnight before the examinaton
is to take place.

[margin]Students reqd.
to be registered[/margin] It was agreed to suggest to the Trustees
that hereafter students be required to wait upon
the Registrar, and receive a matriculation
ticket as members of the University[,] and
that no Professor shall enrol a student as a
member of his class till he present his matriculation
ticket.

[margin]Matriculation ex-
amination[margin] It was agreed to suggest to the Trustees
that hereafter candidates for matriculation in
the Faculty of Arts shall not be required to
possess all the Latin books named in the
Calendar for 1863-4, but that they shall be
examined in any of the books specified which
they may select.
