having ascertained that he has the
ministry in view, and considering that
he is a deserving student agreeed to recommend
the payment to him of $20.

[margin]Ross & Spence[/margin]the Senate that the degree of Doctor of
Divinity be conferred on the Rev.
Ross, Principal of Dalhousie College, Halifax,
and the Rev. Alexander Spence, Ottawa.

the theses of W.B. Thibodo, and
James A. Hope, candidates for the degree
of Master of Arts, and having found
that notwithstanding other excellencies which
they possess, they are deficient in accuracy
of composition, resolve not to accept them.
