There were read Extract Minutes of the
Board of Trustees to the following effect : 1. The
Trustees agree to appropriate the amounts requested
for prizes by the Senatus. 2. The Trustees
agree to place at the disposal of the Senatus
for the benefit of the Scholarship and Library
Funds such fees as may be received for
honorary degrees.

Messrs. Rogers and Gray having differed
in the classifaction of the Essays given in for
the Montreal Prize it was agreed to request Mr.
Fenwick to act as a third Examiner.

Closed with prayer.

The Senatus met and was constituted.

Sederunt Principal Snodgrass, Professors Williamson,
Murray, Bell and Mowat and
Rev. S.H. McKerras Interim Professor of
Classics.

The minutes of last meeting were read and
approved.

Mr Allan to examine
the essay on Petroleum

It was agreed to request Mr. Allan of Alwington
to examine the Essay given in for the
Carruthers Prize.

In reply to a communication from the
Education Office, the Registrar was instructed
to send a copy of the Calendar for 1865-6.

Leave of Absence to
C. Carrothers
[/margin]

In reference to an application from
Christopher Carrothers it was agreed to grant
him leave of absence from this date on account
of his ill health on condition of his returning
