[margin]Mr. Leitch recommended
for pension[/margin]

The Senatus Academicus of Queen's
University and College Kingston, Canada
West, having learned with much interest
that certain gentlemen of eminence in Britain
have recently made an application to
the Right Honorable Her Majesty's First
Lord of the Treasury for a pension in
behalf of John Leitch Esquire of Rothesay,
Scotland, respectfully but cordially recommend
the application on the ground of
Mr. Leitch's very valuable though unremunerative
literary services, to which they
would add his present incapacity for
continuous mental exertion occasioned by
a long standing bodily infirmity, and the
circumstances that three unmarried sisters advanced
in life have become mainly dependent
upon him in consequence of the premature
death of his brother the Very Reverend
William Leitch D.D. Principal of
this University.

Closed with benediction.

W. Snodgrass, D.D., Principal
J.B. Mowat, Secretary
