November 5th 1867

The Senate met and was constituted.
Sederunt Principal Snodgrass, Professors
Williamson, Murray, MacKerras, Bell
and Mowat and Mr N.F. Dupuis, Fellow
of the University.

The minutes of last meeting were
read and approved.

The Senate agreed on the order in
which the matriculation examinations of
the theological students should be taken up.

A number of excuses for absence from
prayers was disposed of.

Macdonnell, Burgess
& Mulloch exempted
from attending prayers
[/margin]

Messrs Macdonnell, Burgess and
Muloch were exempted from attending prayers
on weekdays except on the days when they
have a class at nine o'clock.

The Secretary was instructed to put
up the following notice:

All excuses for absence from prayers are
required to be in writing addressed to the censor.
A list of absences will be put up
fortnightly for the inspection of students, and
will be of permanent record except when satisfactory
explanations are given to the Secretary of the Senate
within four days.

present the levying of fines for absence as a
regular practice.
