My dear Davies:
I am sorry but I am sure it would be
a mistake for me to intervene in the Bakhmetoff
Lomonossoff matter. It would only lead to the
Government itself becoming involved in a contro-
versy which ought to be left entirely to the
Russians themselves.
Pardon the brevity of this note. 1 know
you will understand that I am not forming this
Judgment in haste.
