Dear Sir:

I have your letter of October 9, in which you request
an interview with the President for the purpose of conveying to
him the expression of the gratitude of the Albanian people, and
refer to the very interesting manifestations of their friendly
feeling for the President.

I need hardly call to your attention the very great
pressure upon the President’s time, and the difficulty he is un-
der in according interviews. It will give me pleasure to lay
your letter before him; and your amiable and friendly sentiments
will just as truly reach him in that way as if presented in the
manner that you suggest, which, as I say, it would be very diffi-
cult for me to arrange.
