and rain from the SS East.
Put the tryworks out.
Middle part heavy gales
but no rain. Latter part
light winds and clear from
S East. Employed in trying.

Thirsday February 16th 1826

First and middle part light winds
and pleasant from the southward.
Latter part fresh winds from
the Northward. Saw plenty
of whales. Killed one. He
sunk. Stowed 70 bls in the
fore hatch. Lat 42–48
