First part fresh winds
from W to South. A heavy sea
from N West. Stear S East
and ES East. Latter part light
winds from the Southward and
a heavy sea from the south.
Saw a few whales. Chased
no success. One sail in sight.

Tuesday March 28th 1826

First part light winds from the
south. Middle part fresh breezes.
Latter part light winds from
NN West. Stear SE by South.
Saw a few whales.

Lat by obs 43–26

Wednesday March 29th 1826

Light winds and smokey from
WN West to NN West.
At 6 PM 79 fathoms water.
At 6 AM no bottom. Saw
several whales. Chased
no success. Lat 43–47
