Bishop Otey,
Much Esteemed Sir --
Your highly valued
favor of the 3rd Inst is received -- feeling a deep
interest in the noble enterprize of building
up such an institution as proposed, and
having a warm interest in the prosperity of
the County, of which I am a native. -- It will
be a great pleasure to me, to be present at,
and to participate in, the laying of the
corner stone of the University of the South. --
Respectfully &c
Geo. W. Buchanan
