regret I have to reply
that in consequence of the
numerous encitements of
next week at home I
shall be unable to attend
on the interesting and
auspicious occasion of
laying the corner stone of the
University of the South
which, let me beseech the
giver of all good things, may
be in grandeur and, usefulness
all that its founders hope
for.
