October 23: Fresh to light North West breeze dry with light frost first part of 24 hours - last part of 24 hours light North West breeze dry and warm - General duties for the day - 2nd Asst went to Newport 9 A.M. and returned 3 P.M. - Sea rough.

24: Light N. W. breeze dry with light frost first part of 24 hours - last part of 24 hours light to moderat N.W. breeze dry - General duties for the day - 2nd Asst hauling oats from Newport - had one visitor today - Sea smooth.

25: Fresh N.W. breeze and dry first part of 24 hours - last part of 24 hours light variable winds dry and warm - General duties for the day - 2nd Asst went to Newport for oats at 9 A.M. and returned to the station at 3 P.M. - Sea smooth.

26: Light S. E. to N.W. breeze dry and clear first part of 24 hours - last part of 24 light N. W. breeze dry and warm - General duties for the day - 2nd Asst went to Newport for Oats 9 A.M. and returned 3 P.M. - had 3 visitors - Sea smooth.

27: Light N.W. breeze dry first part of 24 hours - last part of 24 hours light to fresh N.W. breeze dry to thick damp fog - General duties for the day - 1st Asst working in garden - U.S.S. Columbine passed going North at 3 P.M. - Sea smooth.

28: Fresh to light N.W. breeze with thick damp fog first part of 24 hours - last part of 24 hours light N.W. breeze with thick damp fog - General duties for the day - 1st Asst went to Newport 2 P.M. and returned 7 P.M. - Sea smooth.

29: Light North West to South East breeze with thick damp fog first part of 24 hours last part of 24 hours light South East breeze with thick damp to light dry fog - General duties for the day - first Asst Ed. Rice went fishing - Sea smooth.

30: Light South East breeze with light fog first part of 24 hours - last part of 24 hours light South East breeze with light fog to rain - General duties for the day - first Asst Edward Rice went fishing - Sea smooth.

31: Light to fresh S.E. to North West breeze with rain to dry first part of 24 hours - last part of 24 hours light to fresh North West breeze dry - General duties for the day - 1st Asst Edward Rice went fishing - Sea rough.

November 1: Light N. West wind these 24 hours with clear fine weather with some frost - Sea a little rough - General duties for the day - 1st Asst went fishing - 2nd Asst went to Newport after F. M. Plummer Keeper - Keeper returned to the station at 1 P.M. from the east.

2: Light N.W. East and S. East wind & calm these 24 hours first part of 24 hours clear fine weather - Last part of 24 hours cloudy but dry - Sea smooth - General duties for day - 1st & 2nd assts putting 200 gallons of mineral oil in oil-room - 1st asst also went fishing - Steamer Willamette Valley arrived today.

3: Moderate to fresh breeze South these 24 hours with rain - Sea quite rough - General duties for the day - The barometer down to 29.90.

4: Fresh to moderate breeze South these 24 hours with frequent rain showers - Sea moderately smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper and 2nd asst went to Newport after some supplies today.

5: Fresh to strong breeze first part of 24 hours with rain - Last part of 24 hours light variable winds some light rain showers and little thick weather - Sea moderately smooth - General duties for the day - 1st asst went fishing.

6: Moderate bbreeze to gale South these 24 hours with rain - Sea quite rough - General duties for the day - Mr. Rice went to Newport at 12 M. after a Doctor Mrs. Plummer being very sick with Pnemonia - 2nd Asst went to Newport after Mrs. Plummers Mother.

7: Gale these 24 hours with rain moste of 24 hours - Sea rough - General duties for the day - The barometer is 29.80.

8: Gale to moderate breeze with rain first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light N. West to to South wind fair weather - Sea very rough - General duties for the day - 1st asst sawing wood for Keeper - Also 2nd asst helping - 2nd asst went hunting geese - Keeper went to Newport after medicine for Mrs. Plummer she is some better.
