I have a little more time now for about ten minutes. I wrote the rest of the
letter in such a hurry I hardly knew what I put down & what I didn't.
I am glad mother got the brooch. Percy Foster has a nice brooch to send
somewhere. Percy drew some money out of the bank before he left Canada
and has been staked. Jack Baynes & I are going to try to get a pass and go &
see Cliff Hobbs, some of the boys are writing to Pierce Westman. I have not had
a chance to look up Serg't Alp in the 51st here yet.

I can picture in my mind Allan pulling Mabel over the swing
bridge. Wouldn't Mabel hang on! Must be warm over there for fly swatting
to be going on now. If the other girl was as jolly as June you would have
some time. Up to date, eh! Well listening to a sermon & singing over a
telephone is one of the most up to date proceedings of the day. You said Rev.
Holmes reminded you of Billy Sunday. I did not think he was like that.

Allan will be some kid now. I heard a fellow say the other day that
if he ever got out of the army, he would never wear another pair of tan
boots as long as he lived, not so with me however, I like tan.

How did your music for Anniversary come out? That reminds me again of
that telephone business, I am thinking of father trying to hear a sermon over the
telephone and complaining that he couldn't hear. I am also reminded of the day he was
going to put the boots to Anie Abery, and I feel much like laughing good and loud only
the boys will think I have gone bugs, and will want to call the ambulance.

As regards Flyyn, which Flynn did Allan get the tobacco from. Tell Allan to tell [?]
that none of the Granton boys have got any tobacco from him. Some got some tobacco but
did not know he had anything to do with it. "Last Post & sounding, so Goodnight.
