??? Honourable the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee the Petion of a number of citizens
??? Williamson counties humbly sheweth that the east extent of those counties renders it extremely inconvenient for
??? attend courts, General musters Elections &c at the towns of Nashville & Franklin there Being a sufficiency
??? to the constitution to put a new county within the Bounds hereafter to be described and leave - - ???
??? to the old counties We your petitioners therefore pray that you ^will consider our situation And Grant us
??? the following Boundaries. Viz; Begining on the top of a Ridge Dividing the dotus of stones River ..
in williamson county line, run southwardly with the said Ridge so as to leave all the dotus of mill creek
??? williamson county untill the Ridge intersects with the new Eastern boundary line of said
??? continue south with said line, to the Southern Bounder of this State, thence With the State line
??? wilson county thence the line of Wilson county & Northwardly continuing with Said county to
??? a corner of wilson county, which is Northeast from the Mouth of Hurricane Creek thence southwest to
??? Hurricane Creek which is four miles and thirty six poles, thence from the Mouth of Hurricane creek
??? of the first mentioned Ridge, thence with Said Ridge Southwardly to the Beginning, we further
???able General Assembly will Give the name of the New county Sum hansom name and we further pray that the
??? assembly, will pass such an Act that the Navigation of Stones River May be Kept open from John C???
??? Mouth which is all and dependance to carry our produce to market, We further to Give Satisfaction
??? that if we Get a new County that you Appoint Capt Joseph Mallary James Sharp Robert Smyth -
