Heavy saturated morning.
In afternoon Joe Salter came at 3.45 and stayed till 11.45.
I gave him a scratch [the word "afternoon" crossed out] tea at 5.45 & supper after 10 wh. he seemed to enjoy.
Had a hot dish of rice & plenty of cheese on buttered toast followed by plum pudding heated in butter & lemon-custard pumpkin-pie filling with tea.
Later had to fall back on Saos with butter & honey.
It poured in evening & during night.
Joe is having a hard time - his poor suffering pregnant wife a harder.
Stopped me from my work & letter writing.
