Cloudy in morning but sun came out.
A piercing wind all day, before going to bed I had to turn on radiator to get warm & heard rain on roof at 9 p.m.
Pixie made a long telephone call & told me nice Miss Chapman of Children's Dept A.& R. is dying of cancer, alas, alas!
There is no firm ground anywhere.
Called on Fogden's, found Mr. F. better.
Went to Carlton to bank & shop etc.
Old Dodds wd not make good the vilely rotten eggs.
Also went to butcher.
