Chill day, sun at first, then clouds & sprinkles around 5 p.m.
Very busy day, went to butcher, ran messages & wrote a letter for Mrs A.
Did a bit on essay & pasting & gave the kitchen a good scrub etc.
Set two ['mouse' crossed out] rat traps.
Hot bath & to bed before 11 p.m.
Mildred Goggins telephoned during the afternoon to say Judy has pneumonia - I'm not surprised.

Diary entry for June 13 1952, Miles writes that she did some "pasting" - it looks more clearly written as
"pasting".
Maybe she is using the same word here: "Did a bit on essay & 'pasting' ".
