Many showers - Pixie rang twice, first at 9am when I was just dressed & again at 6.
I did a bit of chopping & pruning & then wrote 2000 words of a children's story in response to Pixie's exhortation.
In evening Dal brought his pal Alec Shepherd [Alexander Sheppard] out & they stayed till 11.30.
Shepherd had lumbago & was so uncomfortable that I was unhappy abt it.
Sat him right before the fire till his back got very hot.
The fire was so nice that I wrote till 1.15.
