Grey morning but grew clear in the afternoon & warmed up a bit. Pixie telephoned to say Peggy Chapman was dead after a year's horrible torture. Cleaned the hall thoroughly at last, but the polish Dodds sold me - no good after all my labor. Mrs Andresen in & out. In evening boiled some of Dick Jeune's oranges for rings.
Sprayed lemon tree again with soda. Has responded well, but it was treated too late I fear.
