Thursday night the A.F.S. fed royally
those of us who are about [still?] - 17 -
turkey, with chesnuts roasted with it, mince
pie, and champaigne, were the leaders.
I traded half my champaigne for
Spots pie. Wednesday night - no
Thursday night after the feed
we heard a wonderful chamber
concert led by Touche, a poilu with
wounded stripes, at an artistic
little hall not far from the Hotel.
One night I saw a rip snortin' good
vaudeville - all English program
and better than Orpheum bills -
all but one French dramatic soloist
which was mighty touchin! And
one night I went to a French
vaudeville. So you see, I have
been having quite some permission.
I hope it will end tonight and that I
can get out to camp this week. If I
don't go out in a few days I'll get an
office job until we do go. I have
been sleeping late in the mornings as
a rule, and most of the day has been
