Dear Sir:-

In full adjustment and settlement of all damages claim-
ed by me, account of smallpox in 1898 and 1899, as set out and shown
by my petition on file with the City Council, and in settlement of all
taxes due by me to the City of Fort Worth on Lot Six (6) Block One (1)
Smith, Jones & Daggett Addition up to and inclusive of the year 1901,
I here hand you check for $250.00 as a full and satisfactory compro-
mise and settlement of all matters between mysself and the City on
account of said taxes, and hope the same will be satisfactory and
accepted. If not, kindly return me the check.
