To the City of Fort Worth, Texas,

You are hereby notified that we, the undersigned, demand of the city
of Fort Worth damages in the sum of five thousand dollars ($5000.00) as a
result of the building of the viaduct on Jennings Avenue and the blocking of
the said street, the said building of the said viaduct and the said blocking
of the said street resulting in a practical closing or the said street and
also resulting in a closing of the street for a longer time than we neces-
sary in the prosecution of the said work. The aforesaid acts have caused
the undersigned damage in that it has virtually destroyed the business of
the undersigned to their damage as aforesaid, their business being located
on said Jennings Avenue near the place where the said viaduct is being con-
structed and there being and having been no outlet on the said Jennings
Avenue where it crosses the Texas & Pacific reservation and no outlet into
any other street of the place of business of the undersigned.
