Rose at 11 and went to Dr & Mr Young for dinner.
Dr Henry, Miss Henry & Dr [blank space] also present.
Caught 5.14 train to Winnetka to spend night
with Ethel. Went up to Lloyds for supper.
Found a house full of sickness - colds,
toothaches & ears troubling children. Left
at nine & went to bed with Ethel. Talked
till late. I didn't sleep.

Friday 2
Caught the 9.2 train into town.
Snow soft & sloppy. Wm B. Lloyd
called to say Demmy had arrived.
I pottered in the office futilely, exhausted
for lack of sleep. Dinner at Hearth
with Editha. Walked home alone. Took
[several words obscured] & went to bed at nine

then got up & worked which was more
satisfactory. Lunch with Miss Phelps at
Hearth. Walked home. Washed head &
pottered. Took Dr F's drugs hoping for
sleep.
