Sunday, May 31, 1914
Stayed in room all day and worked & rested. Never went off the 4th floor for any purpose. A beautiful day with a thunderstorm in the evening. Little Marie Juban came in & showed me a Tango doll she had won at Riverview.
Monday June 1
Had a good deal of pain during night. Stayed in bed till 10: got to office at 11. Lunch at Hearth with Ethel. Kathleen Ussher called during afternoon. Ethel came & sat with me while I ate at Hearth. I walked home & went to bed. Wash woman came & I gave her a waist which delighted her. It was a very cool day & sunny.
Tuesday 2
Ethel had lunch with me at Hearth. K. Ussher called to shew her drawings. Wm B. called twice - once on his own initiative & the second time at my instigation. Dinner at Hearth alone & walked home. Very weak & exhausted but pulled thru the day.
