Went out to Maynard's at Ravinia on 5.21. Had great difficulty in finding the place. At last a Mrs Carr took me there. Rained heavily during the night.

Wednesday, July 1
Came in on the train with Freda & her dad & Mrs Allinson. Went to Dr Miller at 10 thence to office. Lunch at Hearth alone. Dinner at Dearborn Inn & rode home. Trying days in office - worry. Wish Mrs Robins wd. get on to her job. Oh for a little private means. How the Lord does love the rich.

Thursday 2
Went to Dr Miller at 9. At 6 o'clock we went to King's and had dinner with Maggie Hinchey. I came back to office for cream and walked home. Mrs Thompson called about 4.30. Still very cool weather.
