Went to Dr Miller at 10.
Had a dreadful day with toothache. Met Mrs Gilman
& had lunch with her at Merkle's & we pottered together a few hrs. & she left for N.Y. & I went to Winnetka & spent the night with Ethel & went to Ravinia. Had a frightful night with toothache. Ethel gave me a hot bottle. Cool night. Wore Ethel's big coat.
Friday 10
Ethel came with me to the dentist at 10. He gave me no relief. Went back at 2 to Dr Pruyn. He gave me no relief so I took wadding out & painted with iodine & at last the pain ceased. Thank heaven. Went to Pischel's for dinner & then Mr Pischel Fred & I drove to Ravinia & back. Fred got me home about 12.30. No pain, oh bliss.
Saturday 11
Comfortable but absolutely exhausted. Wd. have delighted to rest
all day but the Lord's male lovesick sparrows tortured me to death - the horror of them! Was home all day because the office was being fixed. Kept my room excepting to go to the store for supplies. Warm day.
