Busy day in office. Lunch & dinner alone at Hearth and walked home so exhausted that I was in pain. Flung myself on bed & slept till 9.30. Warm day but cool at night.

Thursday 16

Warm day. Got down at 10.
Violent storm in afternoon no
Lights or water & elevator service
stopped so had to walk down. Lunch
& dinner at Hearth alone & walked
home.
Mr Knapp came in & stayed
some time

Friday 17

For luncheon went to Mrs Medill McCormick's
suffrage affair at La Salle.
Did August dummy. At 7 o'clock went to Mrs Fieldcamp's home
for singing lesson where Fred called
& we went automobiling till 12. We had
a talk and Fred was very dear xxxxx
