Sunday, Aug. 23, 1914
Warm day with thunder showers in afternoon
Got up & 10.30. Stayed in room all day with exception of going to store to get something to eat. Made black hat with white lace crown & bound a 2nd copy of "When C. Tarried". Slept in afternoon & read paper.
Monday 24
Very cold day. Lunch with K. Ussher & her mother at Dutch Garden. Got 2 letters from Mother & 1 from Timpey Hebblewhite & 1 from Mr Champion re story. Got home & slept an hour then practised & started to read over When C. Tarried ready to send to Mr Champion.
Tuesday 25
Went to Dr Miller at 9. He put in one gold filling on left right hand side & prepared 2 more & I had tooth ache all day. Lunch with Ethel at Thompson's cafeteria. I went to printers. Then Ethel & I walked down Michigan Ave & had tea. Cool day wore coat. Got home exhausted. Fred rang up at 5 & said he had news of Emma dated Aug 4.
