Arose betimes and met
Miss Hodge at Charing Cross
& came to Canterbury where
we arrived in rain & put up
at Baker's Temp. Hotel. Very
wet, puddled out & took a
look at Cathedral & got soaked
feet. Lovely gooseberries

FRI. JULY 14 1916
Better day. Dull but only
a little rain. Went to St
Martin's in morning.
In afternoon did St Augus-
-tine's Ruins and
College & went to Cathedral.
