Very weak owing to aspirin
taken to banish cold. Pottered
in room leaving it only to
shop at World's end.
Mr De Valde once more to
the charge of cleaning windows
after long absence. Told of loss
of a son at the Front.

THUR. SEPT. 14 1916
Cold as a post. Went swimming
with Maud & Olaf in morning
Came home a lit a baby
fire and wrote first act of
"The Jackaroo". Feeling
fine. (See Sept 26,28 & 29)
