Hull June 7,1808

Dr Sir

I wrote to you by the Speke, but since
she sailed the Sydney has arrived and I have received 
your first Letter sent by her - I am fully persuaded 
you will do all that you can to promote my
Interest, and on that Account give myself no 
concern about my affairs in N.S. Wales - I had 
heard about my sheep having the Scab, but that
might be without any neglect - I know Accidents 
will happen where there is the greatest Attention 
paid. I will not be disposed to put confidence 
in vague reports.  My knowledge of mankind 
is too great for this -

One clergyman I expect will come out in this ship 
should his wife recover soon who is now poorly 
the Revd Mr Cowper - a very nice good man, and 
having good natural Abilities, and promises to be
