= attack of the Measles - CHarles too was also laid up at
the same time he however was not attacked so severely as
myself, the fit exceeding sharp for the time but he
who dealeth kindly seems to be merficully restoring us
again - the attention of the friends & neighbours together
with the anxious looks and little offerings of the poor
Sunday School Children (for it is customary here when they visit
any one that is sick to take them some little present) would
have greatly pleased our beloved parents - Mr Davis our D....
was seized with a severe fit of illness the same days with ourselves
and could not possibly visit us till the ?
- I do trust i can say partiicularly in this afflictoin that it was
well fo rme that I was afflicted and that some of Good
Old Newton's bank notes were very serviceable to me 0 such as
"call up on me in the day of trouble & I will hear thee" but
they care upon the Lord for the ? for their -
I must not close without saying something of my young
friend Charles; as yet he fully meets my wishes - sticks to his
books - and gains the good will of all that kow him - his
mind seems tending toward the medical profession & at times
he seems to be anxious to go to New Zealand at least
for a time - He appears much attached to Hones who I hope
