Status: Needs Review

It affords me pleasure to inform you that at the time
explinations and old writings brought forward which had
not been made public, the committee quite changed their
tone of voice and approved of all that had transpired they are
now well pleased that we came home, they of course wish
us to return but at the same time think it reasonable
that we should remain a while here. My dear {indecipherable] is absent
as he frequently is, for he has been very busyly employed we
since our arrival, in assisting in Missionarie meetings
poor man he begins to sag ? this traveling so much and tell
ing the same story so many times {indecipherable] it is new in every
place, next month he proceeds to Bristol to conferance
after which we shall leave our Fathers house (where we are
at present very comfortable) for a new station {indecipherable]
which will not be above ? miles from hence, we expect
to remain their (in St{indecipherable] one year after which we
not know which way to {indecipherable] we wish to be guided en-
tirely by the providence of God in all things. The weather
is at present very warm and dry which agrees well with our
health for neither Father, Mother, Son or Daugher can complain.

My Brother has disappointed us by not sending the word
so soon as he might. As you know my dear brother that
I have not had one line from any of you or my friends
and you must think I am all most broken hearted, sever-
al ships have come since we arrived and I keep on sending to
the Post Office 3 miles off in hopes of hearing, but all in
vain, what then is England and all its beauties to me if I
hear not of my friends. I am now expecting the end will
be that their negligence and unkindness will wean me
intirely, so that I shall never care to return.
My dear Brother let us hear from you often for you know
the rest are not fond of writing, I wish very much to hear if
you are at your new station & whether you have another little one
and how dear litle James his Mother is, and whether your
pros-
pects are fair to be good in that place. nothing will give us
more pleasure than to hear of your welfair, if crosses be
our lott we pray let us share the by your {indecipherable].
Mrs H. yourself and babe have our prayers. I can say we
most cordialy unite in affectionate ? to you all
Hear us my dear Brother and listen on the wings of faith
and love in your daily petitions at a {indecipherable]
from your loving & affect.. Sister Mary C. Lawry
