"Loved them to the end" ~

I C. [Christ] gave proofs of his love to his
disciples to the end – by associating
with them familiarly to the last.

(a) Did not unduly exalt himself
above them.

(b) Did not keep aloof from them
for the sake of saving his reputation.

(c) Did not allow any untoward
event to drive him from his pur-
-pose of saving them – & preparing
them to save others ~
