-tile world –. Jews all united in accus. [accusing]
& condem. [condemning] them. – but xcused [excused] selves
as favorites having S.S. &c. Paul says they
are not xcused [excused] – guilty of substantially
the same things!! Not consid. [considering] that
t. [the] true design of all their blessings was
to lead to penitence – & so far from
proving them free of sin – showed them
guilty & worthy of condemnation ~

Same trouble now. Men argue from
G^s [God's] pres. [present] goodness &c. [etc.] that he is not
angry with them – they are not sin-
-ners & need no change of heart.

They say – "See how good G. [God] is to us now;
of cours [course] he will not deal any more se-
-verely with us. Narrow view –
a special kindness – with special ends.
