I What is courage as distinguished

1 Courage is not mere recklessness.
This is born of presumption – is not
ever to be admired – not any heart in it.

2 It is not mere bravery –
This is of the will not heart.

3 Not mere physical mor. [moral] courage – based on strength. –
It is a great heart – so lofty, noble,
elevated as to sit calm, serene, in grandeur
& glory in every circ. [circumstance]. – Is cool – self-
-possessed, unshaken: knows no petty
fear – is superior to danger – triumphs over
death.
