III Disguises of Covetousness.
St Francis de Sales – a noted confessor – remark-
-ed that none confessed t. [the] Sin of Covetss [Covetousness].

1 C. [Confessor] "Says take heed beware of it".

The prevalence of t. [the] evil forms its protection.
Keep one another in Countenance. Only reckon
it when it exceeds our own. Very condem [condemning] –
may spring from jealousy – just as among
bandits – he is condemned who secretes more than
his Share of t. [the] booty.

2 Covetousss [Covetousness] passes off under other names.
Worldliness = abhorrence of idleness, or industry –
time, strength, care all go to service of Mammon.
A sigh, or hurried prayer, all left for religion.
Excuse – Prov. [Providence] filled his hands with business – it
would be ungrateful to lose it by neglect – &c. [etc.] –
You may wrongly interp [interpret] – prov. [providence] – but you
can not the word of God – that says
