3. To all times. We must not weary
of this course of action. There comes
no day when we may be guiltless in
failing for a moment. In t. [the] hour
of maltreatment – provocation – & abuse – as well
as in t. [the] time of respect – deference – & honor –
we are to do – not as we are done unto – but
as we wish to be done by ~

4 The oblig. [obligation] extends also to every form
of individual conduct.

(a) To the feelings. Sh'd [Should] feel toward others
& for others as we w'd [would] have them feel toward & for us.

(b) To the kind of moral influence.
Sh'd [Should] have such characters as we wish others
to have. Throw about then such influences as
they ought to throw about us.

(c) To opinions & practices. Are to entertain
& practice for others – those things wh. [which] in them afford
us rational delight. No business to lie & do always what
have a mind to.
