I God governs men by his Prov-
-idences.
~ 1 They regulate themselves
by the Providences of the seasons; – they do
so in those of the day & night – of sun &
storm – an invisible hand directs them
all. Forms of insurance confess
their subjection – the safe-guards &
guanties [guarantees] of society – the avoidance of
danger – the fear of death all testify
to the fact that God keeps men at
his bidding by Providence.

2 Then comes another class of Providen-
-ces still – Loss of property – of health –
of hopes – friends – & the certain
approach of Death – these go to
to subject men to God's Control.
