II They w'd [would] the external & internal means
also different.

1 Have directions given – know truth – Search
the Scriptures – forsake not the assembly
of yourselves together – keep Sab. [Sabbath] day &c. [etc.]
forsake sin &c. [etc.].

2 Some say – If we are to be saved by
the truth – God must teach it to us.

3. Others say – we know what the Bible says
we have several times examined it, we
not trouble ourselves more – A way of
Salvation is provided – if course it is well.

4 Others still – What is t. [the] use of meetings – ser-
-mons &c [etc.], I read at home – teach my children –
but, he disobeys God also – besides neg-
-lecting the best means of good.
