Learn from this –

That t. [the] gos. [gospel] is not of man but God.

1 How much men mistake the
Simplicity & beauty of the gospel.
What poor substitutes they bring – – &
thus we know it is no invention of man

2. Where we do not see the reason of the
requirement – that we sh'd [should] have con-
-fidence enough in God's wisdom to
trust it is the best thing for us and
him.

3 To wash sin away in the fountain
opened for us – Not ask if something
else can't be made to do – but obey
the direction unquestioning.

Let us & be clean from moral leprosy
"There is a fountain filled &c. [etc.]."
